Tlaib is supportive of efforts to impeach President Trump. On her first day in Congress, January 3rd, 2019, she called for the impeachment of Trump in an op-ed she wrote co-authored by John Bonifaz for the Detroit Free Press. Tlaib breaks away from top Democratic leaders as to how to potentially move forward about impeachment as she says “Those who say we must wait for Special Counsel Mueller to complete his criminal investigation before Congress can start any impeachment proceedings ignore this crucial distinction [referring to Congressional powers of impeachment].” Later that day, Tlaib attended a reception for the MoveOn campaign and spoke on stage. She ended the speech recounting a conversation she had with her son.
She is not backing down on her cursing, doubling down.
Now a petition has been formed to impeach her.
They claim she was “fraudulently elected” and therefore should be impeached and replaced with a Republican.
